I had a moment of inspiration last night for a new nail look and as I was happily painting away I realised how good each stage looked on its own so I photographed them, so now I might as well do a how-to so hear we go...
Stage 1.
Paint nails a pale colour and then chose a dark and vibrant colour to go over the top. For this colour you have to wipe off the majority of the polish off the brush and then gently swipe it to and fro across the nail- this also looks good with a dark colour underneath a metalic.
Stage 2.
Use a black nail art pen to do a line of dots down the middle of each nail- they dont have to be perfect, I actually think it looks a bit better messy.
Stage 3.
Use the pen again or a striper tool to do two columns of stripes again the messier the better!
And there you have it tye-die tribal nails! I think this one also looks great in super-bright colours- pink and yellow is a personal favourite colour combo.

Tribal Pink
The tribal pink and coral nails I was rocking this Monday to theCUT- which is easily THE best indie night out in Newcastle. I like to have a new nail look every Monday, I am absolutely always late for meeting my friends because of this but I feel its worth it, and then go for easier stuff during the week.
Sorry about the aweful quality of the image but my camera charger has migrated to an un-known location

My first post!
So I decided it was time for me to take the next step in my nail nerdom and start a nail and nail art blog. So excited! I'm going to try to post every time I paint my nails and hopefully get some other people inspired to take their first shakey steps into the wonderful world of nail art.
To start this off here's a photo of my current nail design- some fun summery leopard spots. They cheer me up every time I look down at my hands!
